Kendrick Lamar had previously confirmed a fan theory that DAMN. could be played in reverse and would still make a cohesive story. Now, the Grammy-winning rapper is taking the theory one step further and releasing a collector's edition  DAMN. with the tracklist in reverse.

While the original DAMN. released in August kicks f with the song "BLOOD.," the collector's edition will now begin with "DUCKWORTH." The new version the album was leaked by Microst's online music store and also shows f a new black-and-white cover for the project.

“I think like a week after the album came out, fans] realized you can play the album backwards…It plays as a full story and even a better rhythm… It’s something that we definitely premeditated while we’re in the studio,” Kendrick previously told MTV.

He added, “I don’t think the story necessarily changes, I think the feel changes…The initial vibe listening from the top all the way to the bottom is…this aggression and this attitude. You know, ‘DNA,’ and exposing who I really am. You listen from the back end, and it’s almost the duality and the contrast the intricate Kendrick Lamar. Both these pieces are who I am.”
