[With St. Louis native Big Will’s new #TrapLivesMatter album finally out, the former BET “106 & Park” Freestyle Friday champion talks to SOHH about his St. Louis, Missouri roots and why St. Lunatics leader Nelly deserves the city’s respect.]

To me, Nelly’s the king. I actually have a really good relationship with Ali and Murphy Lee from the St. Lunatics and I tell them all the time, a lot people say, ‘Oh you guys should have did this,’ or ‘You should have helped this person,’ but I tell them all the time that they did everything for me that they needed to do.

That was showing me that a guy from St. Louis could make it. He really made it. Nelly made it to Super Bowls and everything like that. I’m forever grateful and I will never have anything bad to say about any those guys from that camp.

They looked out for me and I talk to Ali and Murphy Lee on a regular basis.
