“Lost Prophet of the Week” – A$AP Rocky & Tyler, The Creator: “Don’t Be Afraid Of The Odd Future”

[With hip-hop’s new elite of artists like Kendrick Lamar and Joey Bada$$ bringing self-awareness to the rap game, SOHH correspondent Kheron Blue highlights his “Lost Prophet” of the week every Friday. Today’s pick: A$AP Rocky and Tyler, the Creator.]

Always strive and prosper, don’t be afraid of the odd future.

When dope creativity meets rebellious rambunctiousness, you get Tyler, the Creator and A$AP Rocky. Both of these artists made an impeccable impact on music. Both rappers have this attitude where they don’t care what anyone thinks. Despite all the controversy that followed the two rappers, they continued to gravitate toward success.

It amazes me to see artists who have a totally different agenda in music decide to work together. Unity is important and great things happen when brilliant minds work together. These two are the visionaries of the future that the younger generation needs to look up to.

They are not afraid to be unique and they actually take pride in stepping out the box to challenge others to do the same. Make way for the lost prophets. Their latest project is “What the F#$*” right now that has proved to gain quite a buzz and they did a tour together which sold out arenas.

What is a Lost Prophet?

The “Lost Prophet” concept comes from the realization that we aren’t perfect and we don’t have all the answers. However it doesn’t mean that we can’t make an impact on this world based on the talents we were blessed with or the knowledge we obtain to spread the wisdom. Being “lost” means we were born into a world with limited answers but endless questions. So it’s up to us to find ourselves and what makes us important to adding to the positive energy of the universe. Some people find themselves through music. Others find themselves through sports.etc. We were all created different to fulfill our own unique purpose. That’s where the concept of a prophet comes in.
